In 2000 a chance Christmas present of a small offset smoker, a small little tykes store sales toy began two paths that would wind back together almost 17 years later. With the purchase of a small smoker and years of trial and error, (more error than not) Chad began to perfect the love of smoked meats. This spawned into Chad organizing and participating in a KCBS competition world of BBQ. A little tykes sales counter and a little girl with curly pigtails with the gift to design restaurant menus on craft paper with crayons. At 5 years old Justice began her “restaurant”, taking orders and serving up the best cooking in town. Little did we know that these two seemingly minor acts would wind together 17 years later to the opening of our Jackwagon BBQ food truck. Specializing in community events, caterings and just downright old fashion backwoods hickory smoked bbq. Jackwagon BBQ was formed with the intent to bring bbq to locals and help pay for college for the three Anderson children. Strong in our Christian faith we believe that God will lead you to where he wants you when he wants you there. In 2019, several major opportunities opened the door for Jackwagon BBQ to open in a brick and mortar location taking it to a new level. Chad being the Sheriff of Bates County and Courtney being a career nurse was not ready to change careers. Their daughter, now 22 years old was ready to take the family business to the next level. Justice acting as the General Manager will take Jackwagon BBQ to a new level with the help of her two brothers Chase and Cameron both who have had a lifetime of experience becoming Master Pit Bosses. Together, all five Anderson’s will be active in providing a family atmosphere and some of the best BBQ in our area. 

Jackwagon BBQ still offers a Mobile unit, Catering and Dine in FamilyRestaurant on the historic square of Butler Missouri. We believe in supporting the community we live in, providing service with dignity and respect and offering the best quality BBQ we can. We are proud to offer an atmosphere of “Come in as Friends and leave as Family”.
